Electrification of the Seaford Line

Client
Laing O’Rourke for the Department for Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (2013 – 2014)

GTP Role
The Electrification of the Seaford Line entailed working with the Laing O’Rourke project management and construction teams.

We managed community relations for the construction works required to deliver the project. We provided timely and accurate communications to residents and businesses located along the corridor and negotiated the pruning or removal of vegetation as well as the installation of new rail corridor fencing. We supported Laing O’Rourke and DPTI as the client to achieve excellent community and stakeholder outcomes as well as meet the tight project deadline for the operation of Adelaide’s new electric trains.

Outcome
Our approach to communication and engagement ensured residents and businesses on the rail corridor were proactively informed of all upcoming works and provided them with various opportunities to learn about the works, ask questions and provide input to the delivery of various stages. We supported the Laing O’Rourke team to deliver electrification of the line on rime with minimal impact to adjacent stakeholders.
