Daniel Thorpe

Daniel established Gould Thorpe Planning Pty Ltd (incorporating Janet Gould + Associates) in 2008 and since then has built GTP’s reputation as the leading specialist community and stakeholder engagement consultancy in SA.  Daniel is a highly skilled urban and social planner with 25 years’ experience managing teams and projects across local, state and federal government agencies and with private sector partners in Australia and England.

Daniel has led stakeholder and community engagement project teams and provided expert communications, engagement, social impact and planning advice on major road, rail and utility infrastructure projects.  His work has included some of the largest and most complex infrastructure and planning projects in South Australia, such as Regency Road to Pym Street Project, North South Corridor Planning Studies, Torrens Rail Junction Project, O-Bahn City Access Project, North South Interconnection System Project, Glenelg to Adelaide Park Lands Recycled Water Project and Adelaide Desalinisation Project.

Daniel has also worked with numerous state government agencies such as Renewal SA, Innovation and Skills, SA Health and Department of Premier and Cabinet, to deliver community engagement initiatives for major public change programs; and with local government to review community engagement strategies and advise on best practice.

Outside GTP, Daniel is an enthusiastic soccer player and Arsenal fan, with a passion for Ducati motorcycles.  He constantly seeks to balance these interests with his work and highly active family life.
